Learning to Crochet
Today, I wanted to discuss how to crochet. Now, if you have tried learning but found it challenging, no worries. Knitting and crocheting are both simple ways to learn to twist string into shapes. It's not hard to learn, but we do need to go through the process of feeling awkward with the crochet hook and balancing the tension on the yarn. Start with simple projects such as crocheting a scarf. You will repeat stitches over and over, and it will become second nature. Once you've learned one stitch, such as single crochet, learning other stitches will fall into place. Personally, I think the hardest thing about crocheting is learning all the pattern abbreviations. I've kept a cheat sheet next to me when working on projects and have reduced that concern considerably.
I am providing a link to a YouTube video that explains how to crochet for beginners. This video is only seven minutes long and places the starting steps into easy-to-understand steps. Thank you Bella CoCo. Now, pick up a crochet hook, some yarn, and get started. Tip: Do not start out with a very thin hook or thin yarn. This will make those first steps more difficult. Use a medium-sized hook, say, size G or H, and 4-ply yarn. It will be easier to hold on to, and you will have more beginner success.

Life Hack
Dry cuticles? Use Chapstick, preferably one with beeswax. Chapstick is easy to rub onto cuticles and rub in. Plus, it stays in place. Beeswax is thicker and penetrates into dry cuticles well.
